eBon - The paper receipt has had its day!

Since 01.01.2020, all cash registers in Germany have been legally obliged to print receipts, regardless of customer preference. This also applies to sales where only a few customers, such as in bakeries or tobacco stores, want a receipt - less than 3% of customers in these stores. This measure is at odds with sustainability, especially in the face of advancing climate change.

Toxic thermal paper and rising costs

The obligation for vendors to print every receipt leads to significant cost increases due to the increased need for thermal paper. In addition, the disposal of these receipts requires costly hazardous waste treatment due to their toxic properties. This toxic thermal paper is equally harmful to the environment and human health. The conventional paper receipt, which was actually already outdated, represents an additional burden, especially for small and medium-sized companies.

The solution for everyone involved is the electronic receipt (eBon)

A QR code is generated at the checkout during payment, which the customer can scan with their smartphone and view directly. The customer doesn't even need an app for this, just the camera on their cell phone. They can then download and save the receipt. This means they can still look at the receipt months later without it fading, as is the case with paper receipts.

The eBon is...

  • Convenient and flexible
  • Environmentally and health friendly
  • Minimizes costs for your company
  • Easy and quick for the customer to view
